How Dye Sublimation Printing Works
The process begins by printing your design onto special transfer paper using dye-based inks. The printed transfer is then applied to a substrate — like fabric or metal — using a heat press.
As heat and pressure are applied, the dye transforms into gas and is absorbed by the material. Once cooled, the image becomes a permanent part of the surface — smooth, vibrant, and durable.

- Dye sublimation printer:
Prints artwork onto transfer paper using heat-activated inks. - Transfer Paper:
Specialized paper that holds the dye before it’s applied to the final material. - Substrate:
The surface receiving the image, typically polyester fabric, but also includes metal, and more. - Heat press:
Applies the controlled heat and pressure needed to bond the dye permanently to the substrate. - Design Software:

We sublimate onto 100% polyester fabrics, up to 10 feet wide, in various textures and densities. For oversized projects, panels can be seamed — we’ve produced graphics up to 60 feet wide.
How long do dye sublimation prints last?
With proper care, dye sublimation prints can last for years — even decades — without fading or degradation.
Can I print just a few pieces, or do I need a large run?
